The Route
This is a relatively flat twenty-five mile ride characterized by of rolling hills with multiple river and stream crossings. Other than short stretches, the route is extremely rural with little traffic. Take time to enjoy the vistas and farmsteads. Note especially Tom's Creek Methodist Church and the statue of Jesus carved from a standing tree.
Getting There From D.C.
Mount St. Mary's University is situated adjacent to Route 15 between Thurmont and Emmitsburg. Take the exit to the PNC Sports Complex (on your right) and bear right towards the right side of the building. Park in the last lot by the stand of trees. This lot is always empty other than during athletic events.
