The Route

This twenty-two mile ride consists of rolling hills and roadside streams.  You will travel through low density residential areas to the North and Northwest of Frederick.

At the ten mile mark you turn South to ride alongside Fishing creek at the base of South Mountain.  After passing a fish hatchery, continue until the paved road turns into gravel.  At this point you will take a U-turn and begin heading back back towards your starting point.

The roads are relatively free of traffic with the exception of Opossumtown Pike where you need to be watchful.

Getting There from D.C.Take 270

Take 270N and 15N to Exit 15 ,Motter Avenue.  Head west on Motter Avenue, past Ft. Detrick to the Monocacy Middle school which on your right.  Park in the lot to the left of the school.
