The Route
This twenty-two mile route offers stunning vistas and creekside meanders along back roads. It will require, however, some climbing on your part as you ascend the ridge to the East of Woodsboro.
Leaving the parking lot you will head East along Devilbiss Road, which turns into Dayville Road once you cross Woodsboro Pike at the six mile mark. Soon you will turn onto Bennie Duncan Road, which parallels Cabbage Run Creek for most of its length.
Leaving Bennie Duncan, you will have to climb a relatively short but steep heavily trafficked road before turning onto Pine Tree Road. Steady but less challenging climbs will continue along Coppermine Road until you crest the ridge overlooking Woodsboro. The balance of the ride tends to be downhill. You will find Dublin Road to be an enjoyable ride with rolling hills that work in your favor.
Getting there from D.C.
Take 270N and continue onto 15N. You will exit onto Devilbiss Bridge Road/Utica Park. Turn left onto Old Frederick Road at the stop sign. Utica Park will be on your left: follow the entrance road to the parking lot by the large Pavilion.-Point-to-Point Directions-
